Poll: November 1983 Top Songs

Here's a new poll that I just started voting on.  From popgoldradio.com and DJ Tom Natoli.  A different month and year gets voted on and the results are counted down on Natoli's show.  This poll was for November 1983.  Below are the top 39 songs for that month.  "Islands In The Stream" was #1 on a survey that combines chart data from Billboard, Cash Box and either WABC or Z100.  My ranked choices are at the end of the song title. For example, "Islands In The Stream" was my #8 vote. "Ain't Nobody" was my #1.

Some thoughts on 11/83.  Thanks to the success of Thriller, the music biz had begun to crawl out of its early 80's doldrums.  And there's no discounting that the growing success of MTV, with British New Wave acts leading the way, helped out as well.  1983 gave way to best Pop music year of the 80's, 1984.  With its blockbuster albums by Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Lionel Richie, Madonna and Thriller still dominating the charts.  And MTV now a dominating force as well.
