Long Term Memory

What I love about the Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion album is that, besides it being a good record, it was released in January 2009, and a lot of Poll voters remembered it at the end of the year. It's easy to forget stuff as the year goes on. But voters didn't. I think the same thing will happen with the Vampire Weekend's 2nd album, Contra. Out this month, it should make a good showing at the end of the year. This is like a good acting performance in a movie that comes out in the early part of the year. You hope it won't be forgotten come Movie awards season.
But the good news is that both the Vampire Weekend and the Animal Collective CD's are good. And that's why they won't and won't be erased from our memory come the end of the year.
