RIAA Wins?

I wonder how much I would have owed the RIAA if they had seen my old hard drive that had Napster songs on it. The songs I got from it were obscure ones, but is it my fault that most weren't available to buy legally anywhere? Obscure singles, stray album cuts. Why can't everything be made available in this day and age. Alas, things are still missing, and that ain't right.
But I know how the lady at the link below feels. Did she steal or was she just using the technology that was there for the taking?
