RIAA Streams

The RIAA is now going to count Online Streams as part of awarding Gold and Platinum singles.  100 streams equals one download is the formula.  How they came about this is very complicated and vaguely explained in the link below.  Having already added ringtones, streams might have seemed inevitable.  More consumers (like me) are streaming, and most do it before buying.  

But streaming a song is not the same as buying it, even if you subscribe to Spotify, Rhapsody, etc.  So, it will be interesting to see how this affects the Billboard single charts.
