Philly Soul Update

Motown will always be #1, but Philly International Records is right behind them.  Back in May, the big 3 architects of the Philly Sound had a reunion to map out next years 50th anniversary celebration.  There's talk of a book by Gamble/Huff/Thom Bell.  A Broadway play and hopefully many more.  I'd like to see a definitive documentary.  While the PIR music has been reissued many times, I'm hoping that there will be a renewed effort to publicize the albums of those artists more and not just the Greatest Hits ones.

And while Thom Bell is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame (along with Linda Creed), he belongs in the Rock Hall.  Why not induct him with Motown's other great genius, Norman Whitfield?
